Update- September 15, 2025-Another milestone visit was accomplished. He had blood work drawn as part of preventative care. What is so helpful is the team had read up on how it was managed in 2023 and so were prepared to support Luke. Their ability to HEAR how it can work makes a huge difference over others who have tried to do it "their way". Luke accepted with ease the placement of a muzzle by me calmly waiting for it to be tightened appropriately , proceeded to allow me to lift him into his snuggle bed to embrace him while his blood was being drawn from his leg, he did not protest, he stayed calmly snuggled. His veins are small and with age ( approx 14) makes it a bit more of a challenge however enough blood was attained with two pokes. No growls, no cries, no attempts to bite, no struggle just a calm. The staff taking time to understand him, support what he needs is a gift. The fact they welcome even a drop in Hello/ treat visit from time to time has helped Luke feel safe. So we add onto our successful visit from July 10, 2025- when I was able to write- Today was the first time in our four years having Luke in our care where Luke got a full exam. A monumental day. When we got his paperwork as foster parents...he was labeled in bold print across his forms MUZZLE/ sedation. Our experience having him under our care where we have worked hard to gain his trust, was still found that care was as little hands on as possible. October 2023 he had his first encounter with Dr. Bertamini who actually managed a non confrontational interaction with him drawing blood and doing a predental check up. Today he got an ear check, under his arm temp check, rectal check and physical assessment of his hind quarters. Lots of hands on assessment. He was a rock star and it felt so good witnessing the calm interaction. WE have worked long and hard to get Luke to accept the exams with supportive measures to day he was a regular guy who could present no collar muzzle combination just using force free invitational, supportive approach. We have found our new vet for Luke taking him forward in his elder years. Being able to call, have an inviting client centered call with Jaimie vs other clinics we had been in touch with a brusque business call was also very welcoming.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Went to Pawmer Vet Clinic as we had just moved to the area and thought it would nice and easy to be close to our vet — now after seeing how amazing this clinic is I would drive across town to have my dogs treated here if we didn’t live nearby. From the second my two chihuahuas and I walked in the door we were treated with so much compassion and professionalism. My senior dog ended up needing surgery and the entire team treated her with so much love and compassion I was totally blown away. To not only hear but also witness how each team member treated my animals as if they were their own was so comforting, especially after my senior dog’s surgery had progressed to be more intensive than expected. Communication was clear, absolutely zero judgement was placed on decisions I made, my dogs were treated and spoken to with respect and kindness, etc... To hear Dr. Bertamini talk to my dogs the same way I do even when they were being difficult, or to know that Jamie and Jamie were spending time cuddling and comforting my senior chihuahua post-op just as I would have wanted was the cherry on top. I highly recommend bringing your pets here if you would like them to be treated with the upmost care, compassion, and respect. Prices were also reasonable, with detailed invoices supplied. I cannot say enough about how extraordinary Dr. Chavonne Bertamini and her team are at Pawmer Vet Clinic. From the very first meeting to every follow-up, the level of care has been absolutely exceptional. Dr. Bertamini’s knowledge and compassion truly stands out. She has a genuine passion for being a veterinarian, and it shows in everything she does. Her entire team is equally amazing — friendly, helpful, and always going above and beyond to make sure everything is handled with care and kindness. The office atmosphere is welcoming, and you can tell everyone there loves what they do. The level of care Roxy and Jasper receive is nothing short of 5-star. After an altercation at the dog park my buddy Apollo was bitten on the head. It became infected and caused him a lot of pain. Dr. Chavonne went out of her way to care for him!! As a large breed he can be a lot to handle and is very nervous in new places.
